Excellent reading if you are dealing with menopause or are interested in dealing with hormonal issues in women. Big Pharma drugs are not your best option due to what they do in your body. Here you will understand WHY. This book is a very good reference to help you understand this and how natural, bio-identical hormones can be used, obtained and give you much safer and better results for hormonal issues.

Uzi Reiss and Elizabeth Vliet provide more thorough discussions of this topic, but Jonathan Wright has written magazine articles for years and offers a concise review of the evidence for bio-identical hormone replacement. Wright focuses on bio-identical hormone replacement, resulting in a briefer discussion, since he spends less time discussing studies of horse estrogens and artificial progestins.Misleading, sensationalized media coverage of large, poorly designed, ethically questionable estrogen replacement studies, including the Womens Health Initiative and Nurses Health Study continues to discourage women from obtaining safe effective natural hormone replacement. These large studies of thousands of women used the same dose of Premarin horse estrogens for study subjects, without regard to symptoms. Doseage was not adjusted for individual study patients. I doubt anyone would volunteer for a thyroid hormone replacement study, if they were informed individual hormone levels would not be measured and everyone would receive the same hormone dose, irregardless of whether they exhibited hypothyroidism symptoms. Many health insurers prefer dangerous horse estrogens, because they are less expensive to produce and purchase.Physicians treat individual patients, not study groups. This is a light, quick read, but has a great deal of information you'll have trouble learning elsewhere. Did you know that there are three kinds of Estrogen? That's just for starters. I suffered from depression and fatigue after a hysterectomy, and months of research took me to this book, a new doctor, a new prescription for "natural" hormones, and I'm a new woman, or really I got my old self back, thank God and the authors. Plus, because of this book, I am practically an expert, and I've taken control of my own health care.

There are a ton of books out there for parents looking for insight into bringing up Chritian kids in a world culture that isn't exactly "friendly" to Christian thought and values. This book goes through a variety of subject areas and is always very readable, insightful, and provides great examples.As a parent who was saddened to seem my oldest kids either reject or ignore the faith they were raised with as they grew up, this has really helped me to re-focus on priorities as my youngest enters the critical HS years.Great for a parents small group or SS class!!!

To multiply the effectiveness of the book for any group -- get the DVD. The personal stories from young people are sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes astounding, sometimes both of these coming from the same person. And Kara Powell's depth of insight and research come through clearly as she shares her heart about why this is such an important study and how it can help us as parents to step up ourselves and fall in love with Christ more, so that we can lead our kids to do the same. Many parents in our group agree -- the book wouldn't be nearly as effective without the enhancement of the DVD.

Another great little pocket-sized guide to help the traveler decide where to go and what to do. Packed with information and good photos, I really like these little guides.

This is the least informative of all the Eyewitness Travel guides in my library today. May be that there is simply not enough information to compile a worthwhile book. Publisher might consider informative pamphlets in place of a combined island book. Would not buy again.

I find that a trip is not as valuable unless I bring reading material that helps me find places to go and see easily so I don't waste valuable time with trivial travel. This was a good guide.

Amazing Guidebook - we only had 5 days in the BVIs for our own chartered sailing adventure, and this book helped us to make sure we hit the high points. Don't leave home without it!

Only used for the American Virgin Islands. Maps were crappy. Info was okay and always like concise lists. I used this as a secondary guide book if I couldn't find anything in the first book. Best suggestion would be to make sure internet works well on your phone for info--AT&T.

This wonderful collection of creation myths is a book I've had my eye on for a few years now. I rapidly devoured this book, as most of the creation myths are only a page or two, and there are beautiful full-page illustrations throughout. There were a handful of myths I was familiar with, and I think there were only two myths in the entire collection I did not enjoy. Toward the end of the collection, Hamilton presents myths I found very familiar--Greek myths and Judeo-Christian myths. I feel that most readers would be familiar with these tales, so it makes sense to save them for the end of the book, but as I read them I found myself longing for more "original" tales from Africa, from North America, from Russia. Perhaps a second volume of creation myths is necessary; it's one I'd gladly read!

These are not only great stories, but I bought them before I realized they were illustrated by the incomparable Barry Moser. His illustrations really make the book, and the little boy I bought it for loves it. Very pleased by this book.

This fascinating collection is quite an entertaining read. It's a real eye-opener to see what all these cultures' creation stories have in common. Definitely worth your time, and not nearly as difficult as Joseph Campbell's work.

This is such an interesting book and bigger than I expected it to be. Great way to learn about the different ways cultures explained where they came from when they had such a limited view of the world at the time. Highly recommended.

My children are 12 and 5. Both of them are enjoying learning mythology from other countries. I think it is important to let your child explore other creation stories from around the world.I really enjoyed this book. The pictures are beautiful, the book is very informative and it is objective. I was very surprised to see the Christian creation myth being presented as a story like the rest.I seen other reviews about the book not being a kid book, I disagree. If your child is used to long stories and even chapter books at 5, they will be able to sit for this book. If you have never read those types of books to your child then it will be new to them and you will lose their attention. I would say 12 is probably the perfect age but 5 was very possible. It depends on the child and what their past experiences have been.Overall, buy this book! It's a must have for a skeptics library or for parents who are allowing their children to pick their own path in life.

This compilation of world creation myths is a very interesting and informational book; well written, and has beautiful paintings to accompany each creation myth. I find it intriguing that many cultures from around the world separated by continents, oceans, mountains, and time can have many similar characteristics and yet be all distinct and different from each other.Cultures' and religions' myths featured include: Greek, Jewish, Christian, Mayan, Minyong, Egyptian, Marshallese, Tahitian, Babylonian, Nigerian, Icelandic, Zambian, Huron, Krachi, Northern Aranda Aborigine, Chinese, and many more for a total of 25 myths. One thing I would like to have been different was to have fewer Greek mythology tales and have had more lesser-known (or unknown) myths, and represented an even wider range of cultures from around the world.

Perfect introduction for my daughter to the many ways religion talks about creation.

I like this book. I have the kindle edition. If there is an occasion, there is a recipe. This book is loaded with recipes. There is even helpful hints and tips at the end of each chapter; that is one thing that sets this book apart from the others. Helpful & "why didn't I think of that" hints and tips. For 400 pages, there is quiet a bit of information in this book. IF your looking for a recipe for bath bombs, scrubs or body butters, this is the book for you. I was amazed at the difference in the recipes for each chapter/section. I consider this book a keeper. Would also make a great gift for someone who likes to make there own bath goodies.

Don't get me wrong, this book is lovely in that it contains recipes for DIY beauty and spa things that we are all looking for when we stumble upon this book.Those recipes however are what drove me to my 3/5 rating. The recipes jump all over the place from standard to metric, back and forth through the whole books. On recipe will be in oz, while one is in cups and another in mg or ml... Not really sure where the author was going with that because it reads off like it's just a bunch of recipes copied from other sources and jumbled into one location.The collection of recipes is appreciated but the jumbled mess that isn't standardized for one method or the other is a bit hassle some when you have to randomly convert a recipe from one to the other.Aside from that if you are looking for a collection of nice recipes this is a great book, just be warned that it isn't all in one set measuring world.

While the instructions are clear, the spelling and punctuation need to be addressed. There are also some cars of the wrong word being used because it sounds similar to the correct one. A bit of careful editing would beneficial to this book.

Simple but good recipes for beginners. I'm not, but it's still a nice little guide. I appreciate it for what it is.

I found I've only needed the "Basic Bath Bomb" recipe. I switch out one tablespoon of vegetable oil with different fragrance or essential oils. I leave the coloring (I use gel colors from the cake decorating section in our local grocery store) until last and if the batch seems too moist I just add a bit of corn starch (for whatever reason it seems to stop the reaction (i.e. expansion)). It took several batches to get the desired results and I've tried other recipes from other books but I keep coming back to this one. This recipe makes about six 2.5" bath bombs.Ni

This book was returned because of the "trash" language used about athletes that IF IT IS TRUE didn't need to be published and if it is fact Mr. Rapaport should tell that it is "HEAR SAY"! I ordered 5 books to give to my grandchildren and happened to get 10 which I sent all back to Amazon within 24 hours. SMACK is ok but the stories about these athletes should be verified before repeating. Disgusting!

I’m a huge NBA fan and I heard Rappaport pitching his book on Sirius’ NBA channel. It sounded interesting so I gave it a shot. I definitely enjoyed parts of it, some laugh out loud stories from his childhood and I agreed with many of his points regarding today’s NBA. I just feel that he goes over the top with his aggro “ball busting” act. He sounds like he may be bipolar. Also, his fictitious story line dialogues (exp Phil Jackson Chapter) get old fast....The editor should have paired those down. Overall, a decent book for a few laughs...if you’re looking for more-don’t but it.
