But--you guessed it--the laughing Hat Cat has other ideas, as he lets himself in to eat cake in their tub. He leaves behind "a big long pink cat ring," which he then handily cleans with "MOTHER'S WHITE DRESS!" The dress then loses its pink stain to the wall, then Dad's shoes, then the rug in the hall, until finally the Cat must call in some assistance: from inside his hat comes Little Cat A, then Littler Cats B, C, D, E, and so on, nested like dolls in ever tinier hats. With this pack of felines, Sally and her brother may get rid of those stains, but they'll likely never be rid of that rascally cat. the cat in the hat by dr. seussthis is about a girl and boy and how they sit in their home while their mother went to town. a cat walks in and wants to have fun with them.the fish is not for it at all and tells him to leave. the children play with different things and the whole house turns into a mess and they seetheir mother about to walk in the door when the cat calls upon things one and thing two to help clean up the mess. they do it before the mom walksin the door and the cat leaves. the ending question is do you tell your mom what you did while she was gone or just say you looked out the window all day.....
Tiny books with tiny print. You will need powerful reading glasses to read these tiny books. The books are so small they will fit in a shirt pocket. I thought these were going to be the full size books I remember from my childhood, but these are really small. And many of these books are titles I don't recognize at all. There are a couple of classics (Cat in the Hat, How the Grinch ...) but many of these books are ones I've never heard of before. The Lorax is not in this set for example.If I had realized these were tiny books I wouldn't have ordered them.
Was very disappointed to see that the books are so small. My mistake was not reading the customer reviews previously posted. If I would have known that they were not the full sized books I wouldn't have bought them, they are expensive for the set when you're expecting something more. It would be nice for the seller to add this to the description of this mini set.
I was excited to get a big collection of Dr. Suess' books. When they arrived, they're miniature! These are NOT full-sized books. It doesn't say that in the description. You'll never be able to read these in a dimly lit nursery before bed - unless you have bionic eyes like the Six Million Dollar Man. The print is so small, it's crazy you see, it's hard to read to you by me, it's small, small almost nothing at all!
A Great Deal! Note that this set is the larger size book. Read the product dimension. There is another set of paperbacks for cheaper that is smaller, and there is another set of hardcovers that are smaller. Read the product dimensions to know the size you are buying. This set is the larger size and I felt the best deal. A great deal!If you want the hardcovers at the full size you should get the three book collections as starters. That route is more expensive. I would have preferred the hardcovers, but this softcover deal was too good to pass up.The retail price is $190 on this. Half that price would be a fair deal. I paid less -- a great deal.Invest in books for kids and lots of them. Lots of them. Turn off the TV. Read.
The books are about 5 in tall. Just too small for children to be honest. If you have problems reading fine print, don't buy these.
All of the books are full length Dr. Suess stories and they include some of the classics that I grew up reading in the early 90's. My daughter is 5 months old and cannot appreciate the ryhming or story aspects yet but she likes hearing me read and looking at the insane and colorful characters littered throughout the books. 20 full length Dr. Suess books for $50! I should have bought them earlier.
Nothing wrong with the order. It's just that they are half the size that I was expecting. Couldn't tell from the picture. So if you are looking for tiny little books, that are half the traditional size, with tiny little words and tiny little pictures, then this is it. It's a cute set, good for travel, but I think a very poor choice for beginning readers. The books with more text appear like newspaper print in size.
I bought this collection for my grand kids. They love Dr Suess. No where on the site does it say the size of the books. I've never seen a book less than 8 inches. These are little books and the type print is small making it more difficult for them to read. They would never let me return them but I just wanted to warn anyone else looking at this site. Also many of his classics are missing and a few are repetitive. Would recommend you look else where
