This is probably the fifth or sixth year I've bought this calendar for my office. I don't own a sailboat, but I've been on the ocean on one. This calendar always takes me to distant dream lands. Each month has a map, layered behind the dates, of each of the exotic place in the picture shown above. I'll keep buying them as long as they keep printing them.

We have been getting this calendar for years. It is absolutely beautiful. Fabulous pictures of sailing vessels in extraordinary locations and nice charts on the bottom page where the calendar is. Highly recommend!

This calendar is a must buy for myself every year and I give it as a gift every year as well. I love the chart backgrounds to the day/date pages, and the photography is spectacular. I especially like wilder ocean sailing photographs, and this year's numerous entries from the northern hemisphere suit my preferences more than some previous years' stronger focus on Polynesian/tropical scenes. I enjoy everything that Ferenc Mate puts his hand to and also recommend him as author, but I hope he keeps producing calendars for many years to come.

I really wanted to like this book. The storyline was good and had so much potential, but even from page one, the book was full of grammatical and punctuation errors that even a child should have caught. This mad it SO distracting trying to read the book and keep up with who’s saying what and what they’re thinking versus actions. But the overall plot and message of the story was on point. For that reason alone, I’d be willing to try a different book by this author.

I asked this do you have faith in God??? Because after you read this book you'll really. Need to know that you know him. Kisha, had me crying from the beginning to the end this book is deep???? Get your box of tissue ready. Things happened in this life we don't understand liked I had two brothers died 28 days apart from massive heart attack. Leon, just retired at 62 yrs old, my other brother Michael died at 63 yrs old. This book was right on time, I thank God, He's a comforter. Great job Kisha.

This is a retelling of the Book of Job, a Biblical account of what happen when God lets Satan test the faith of good people. It was an unending cascade of tragedy and betrayals. This isn't a spoiler because the book's title refers to it, but the main character found her baby dead at 2:32 am. After having lost two previous pregnancies. And the losses don't stop there. Whenever things start to look up for the character, there's another test. Is there no end to the loss this woman is expected to bear- or to her ability to suck it all up and praise God? Personally, Job is one of the least edifying and spiritually supportive books of the Bible, with it's 'happy ending' of 'and then they had other children, so it was all OK in the end. ' Apparently, humans are completely replaceable, so if someone dies, just find a new person to fill their role. Not a book with a happy ending, or one likely to console a woman who's lost a child.

Normally I'd go on and on about how great the book is and what you can expect from it and the characters but I have to be frank and honest. For me, this book was very triggering yet very realistic. I've been grieving for over a year over a loved one and this book brought all of that to the surface. That's not to say that this book is bad on the contrary this book is very good. The author does an awesome job of capturing the real-life situations of grief. I too have been angry with God and sometimes I still am. This book pulls heavily at your heartstrings and you can't help but to love the characters you should love and pity the ones you should pity. It makes me feel as though the author has gone through some loss of their own that they were able to accurately convey the grieving and healing process. If you love a tear jerker I definitely suggest reading this. Although the ending is quite shocking it is still a peaceful place and leaves you with nothing but good thoughts and vibes. Great Job.

I loved this book, I lost a grandson a little over a year ago, and yes I am still grieving, I never lost my faith, I know God was the one that held me up, so that I could be the strength for my daughter's and the family, being in a hospital for 2 weeks believe for a miracle was so hard, although my Ja'siah transition, God did show up and showed out...His was the Glory....while reading this book, I had to thank God, because Charlotte went through on so many levels....but oh the Grace of God...

It's strange l had just started reading this book a few days ago,and was feeling something was going but not knowing what. About halfway through this book I get a call that my great-niece committed suicide it's just as if the prayers were right on time.

This book is definitely a must read. The author has penned a great story line, page turner and she connects you with the characters instantly. You will experience the emotions that the characters are feeling. I wanted to hurt Dakota. Some friend she turned out to be.I haven't read many books that make me cry but this one really got me. Great job Lakisha Johnson. I look forward to reading more of your books.

Well written common sense values and beliefs that are well documented and founded in biology, psychology and anthropology. This is not some politically correct piece of trash by some childless, pseudo intellectual academic. Instead, the author is a well respected professional and father who's personal experiences and research come together to provide logical, down to earth advice and methodology for raising boys. I have experienced much of what he claims "how it used to be" when I was growing up in the 50's and 60's and matured happy and well adjusted. I'm volunteering my spare time helping some young boys to find themselves and their strengths, and bought the book for some insight into present day thinking. It's an eye opener to say the least. Thanks to Mr. Gurian for an excellent piece of work from one of the tribe :)

A fantastic book about the unique needs of boys, which sadly are often overlooked. This book was recommended to me by my son's pre-K teacher and I'm so glad I took her advice and read it. An excellent an informative read for anyone with sons. Or for that matter, anyone with nephews, brothers, husbands, etc.

It helps me understand my 3 years old son alot better. As a first time mom, I found it's really hard to understand a boy's mind. It's not easy cause we are so different and I want to be able to understand him and help him gets through the day without fuss or tears. I love all the suggestion and I recently bought my son a "How things work" book. It works like miracle. He would ask me to read and explain to him everyday how things work. It is so funny. I love it. It works like charm. Thank you!

I have a three year old Grand son who is active but usually under control. This book brings an excellent understanding of why boys function the way they are. I highly recommend this book for those who are involved with boys and adolescents to help foster a solid foundation to be a well functioning adult. Most of its evidence is based on scientific articles and there was little relating to anecdotal experience as being causal for there behavior, although anecdotes were used to illustrate a point. I found it very enjoyable to read.

"You Can't Go Wrong Doing Right - How A Child of Poverty Rose to the White House and Helped Change the World" (2019 publication; 253 pages) is a memoir of political activist and management consultant Robert Brown. In the book's Prologue, we are in "Pretoria, South Africa, November 198", and the author gets an unexpected invite: South Africa's President Botha wants to meet with him... From there we go back in time, to the author's early (and humble) upbringings in North Carolina, how he became a police officer in High Point (the first African-American), and then joined the Federal Bureau of Narcotics' New York division. It's around that time (late 1950s) that the author gets acquainted with Martin Luther King, and eventually becomes one of his closest allies and advisers (MLK's "secret weapon", according to the author). The author leaves the FBN to start a PR/communications/consulting agency and he ends up working with some of the country's largest companies to help them cope with minority problems. "My dual role, though precarious at time, provided a unique perspective on major events at a particularly tumultuous and dangerous time in our country's history."But the best is yet to come! A staunch Democrat, he is nevertheless heavily recruited to become involved with the Republican Party, and Nixon's team in particular. "I felt torn between loyalty to my Democrat friends in the civil rights movement and my sense that we were about to enter a new stage in which government policy, not demonstrations and protests, would lead social change. I feared that too many Democrats favored welfare programs over more substantial things, like equal access to education and black economic development."How the author's involvement with Nixon plays out is something that you'll just have to read for yourself. And likewise as to the author's activities in South Africa. I was surprised in the best possible way with this book. The author, now a crisp 80 yr. old something, has a great life story to share with us, and from the looks of it, has a lot more to give. Bottom line: "You Can't Go Wrong Doing Right" is a WINNER.

I just saw a CSPAN interview with this man, and his history, from humble beginnings to his associations with Martin Luther King, Robert Kennedy, Nelson Mandela, and Richard Nixon reminded me of the "Forrest Gump" screenplay! Couldn't believe my ears and couldn't stop watching. Bought his book immediately afterwards, and can't wait for the read.

What an incredible story of faith, courage, love and perseverance. Having lived through this era of history it is fascinating to see a totally different perspective. Truly inspiring!

I loved it because it gave me insight to my family's struggles under the occupation in Lithuania.

A very important part of Lithuanian history concerns book smugglers.Just google Lithuanian book smugglers and the story is there on Wikipedia. There are also some videos on YouTube but not in English. I have watched a dramatisation which is very good but being in Lithuanian, it is clearly not accessible to all who are interested in this subject.On the other hand, a different way to learn about this and related events in Lithuania's history is to read Jura Reilly's latest book, "Sylvia's Book Smuggler".The story of Sylvia's trip to Lithuania is the device through which the reader receives all this new information.This novel also uses the literary device of a ghost who tells the story in fictional form of author Jura's great grandfather and others who were involved in the book smuggling movement at a time when use of Lithuanian language in any form of Roman alphabet text was banned. My own paternal grandfather read his first Lithuanian language books courtesy of book smugglers and became a teacher in one of many underground schools around the country.This ban on any overt or official use of our language lasted for 40 years but Lithuanians are a determined lot and the language survived despite various attempts at russification and/or polonisation to exterminate it both then and since.Many activists suffered persecution, exile and/or death but the language survived and went from strength to strength.Linguistics scholars worldwide are extremely grateful for this as the language is unique and its forms are of special interest to language researchers.Reading Jura's book in its modern fictional setting, is a pleasant and easy way to learn about this period of Lithuanian history.Although I am pretty familiar with much of the history, I learned about a couple of events of which I had been unaware.The main character, Sylvia, travels to several interesting and special places in Lithuania and the reader learns about these spots along with her through the people she meets. The ghost speaks just to her and teaches her about the smuggling that took place. By the end of the novel the events and places are inextricably linked.Author Jura cleverly weaves in little packages of history, but never in a didactic tone.I thoroughly enjoyed reading her novel, which is really a tribute not only to her great grandfather, Tomas Zickauskas-Zickus but to all those who risked their lives and those of their families when they undertook to ensure that the Lithuanian language be kept alive and accessible through the printed word."Sylvia's Book Smuggler" is a superb way to find out about this most significant period in Lithuanian history.
